Here are some quick boards for the up and coming show Flip Flops. I did about a year ago for 10 ton productions.

Its scheduled to be release in the 2011 season..I'm so glad the show passed!!!The Final product looks Amazing.It's so cool to see something you specifically worked on translated into the small screen..To see the shots I worked on is a feeling that I truely can't describe...

Images 1-3..We start off at the school and kat shows her freind her little secret... and it in her pants. XD

Images 4-5..Here kat's freind is confronted by 2 girls whom confront her on kissing their boyfriends.But she's too clever and uses the library assistant as a scape goat..very sly of her

Images 6-9...Here we have a romance scene with Kat and Merlin...The first set is from an earlier part in the screen play where the tension is just building ever so slightly.

So this is a rough Character design/pitch I did for a freind of mine.The projects intention was to give her clients,partners and fans a window taste of her personality.

...She wanted something a little sexy.I feel like the pose was there but the eyes tell a different story the colors however are not too shabby..Maybe I'll explore more with color and see what kind of results can be acheived...

So Here we are revisiting the no spill project.This Version differs from the last one as far as Simplicity in Camera Angles.And from an Animation standpoint would be less Expensive and much more Easily Executed.This versions Scenic direction is much clearer.But By contrast less dramatic.So its a Straight foward in a sense.

One of the hardest things to draw is the figure in motion.As an animation artist I know that memory and the knowledge of the human form is key when capturing the event.I often think of Bruce Lee when it comes to dance and martial arts.His interview about honestly expressing oneself has definitely struck a chord with me when a attempt to record action.I often wonder if my performance in recording the subject in motion is as honest as the subjects performing.I'll definitely be thinking about this one for years to come.

The sketches I've done here were manifested at a Dance studio.Jody Oberfelder the choreographer as well as the dancer for this amazing arrangement invited me to sketch her and her team in rehearsal.They were preparing for the "Heads or Tales" production at the Abrons Arts Center March 11-13 2010(AD) of course.

So I'm walking to 116th street and lenox to have lunch with my sister.She doesn't show up.Something happened.I see this guy working there and he looked so familiar.So I asked him.His last name.And if he was ever at a school I used to attend.Yes to both he says.It turns out that it was my 6th and 7th grade Music teacher from about 10yrs ago!!!!!This drawing was inspired by the profile of his head lol!!!!!!It was good seeing you Mr.Bey.

Most of the work is in my sketch book while the tonal one with the character sticking his hand and his fine succulent ass was a charactiture I did on the steps of union square.I'm headed to doing more color experiments and compositional studies so the next posts may not be as interesting.Some might be redundant.But it's to really grasps the concept of color and it's application.Effectively or ineffectively.I'll post some images of the ending of my film in the near future.Yes that's right it has been postponed at certain times due to income but steady income has cradled me for the time being.It's time to FINISH!

So I'm really getting into visual direction and designing space.As well as motion.Most of the drawings I'll be posting are all on commutes to work or possible work.I really have to hustle to find time nowadays.Right now I'm trainning to sell things to people door to door.It something I feel will prepare me for starting my own animation studio as well as manage my crew.People move up really fast in this company I'm working for.So I'll get a little bit of everything as far as experience.It can pay alot if I was just interested in making money but as long As I have money to eat. I'm going to have trouble with hours though 2.5 to and from 5 hours total.But now I know where I'm going so I don't have to pay attention to the terrain or landmarks.I just get car sick because of the bus movement.It'll definitley be a balancing act.

So On my New years eve /New years day.I decided to got to the New Yorican to celebrate.I was there since 8pm really they opened at 9 but I was there only because over here things fill up fasts and I didn't want to take the chance.So there I was waiting in the cold waiting for it to start and most people diddn't even show up until 20 after 9.But I didn't care.I started drawing at around 9:30.Alot people were confused on what I was going to draw since I always have this weird way of starting off.I like to bring Everything together toward the end.I say about 10:50 11:00 Everybody was there.It was so crowded in this little place.People were bumping into me while I was drawing.Some really stop dancing to figure out what I was drawing.I don't know why everyone thought I did graffiti on the side.Oh side question A lot of people are telling me that I look alot older than my age.Please tell me it isn't true?So back to the NewYorican.Yeah so the actual drawing stopped at around 11:55pm.I went up and danced by myself fo alittle bit.Waited for the new tear and made my little mark on the drawing right on the new year.As Far as I know and I'm aware.It was the First Drawing Concieved on the new year and new years eve for the firt ever New Yoricans New Years holiday Bash or party.

Wow times have been crazy.Stuggling hoping failing, suceeding, LIFE.Man I must say this is an experience I know I'll never forget.But Before I loose all of you.To the three guys who actually look at this site this ones about my experiences and an important aspect in the Freelancers/working artist career.That is Pace speed and accuracy.My whole time here in nyc it was never a factor wether I was a good enough animator.Never professionals would often flatter me and tell me that they could look at my work for hours or it was engaging.But because I'm used to working at my own pace and not a pace say something like 20 secs a week for finished limited animation I would actually be too expensive.Time is money.The faster the better.So right now I'm going to have measure myself accordingly.

Here are some records and standards in animation you all should keep in mind.Rember there are 16fms per foot

20-late-30s Ub Iwerks-700 drawings a day(all usable)

Disney standard 10-15ft a week about 240 frames

full animated performancegrand master(Milt Kahl GleneKeane) 30-60ft a week sometimes straight ahead

Louise Zigeralli 70ft a week 224 drawings a day!(look her work up)

Some Storyboarding paces 20-40 frames a day(drawn) clarity is key not clean.

I posted this because this is something I wish I was aware of college.Better late than never lol!

Direction

I used to believe the better I would get in my craft the better off I would end up in the future.Now I know that is far from the truth.If all I know is animation and sketching(which by the way I consider an art,just like animation or art what have you) that leaves my open to finacial struggle.Now I feel like it is so important and it is absolutely essential that I become a jack of all trades especially when it comes to FINANCES and CASH FLOW.I'm not saying that I'm giving up on creating.I'm just spending more time observing and even more time on Getting my money's right.The last thing I would want is for me is to be a big legendary figure in the Field. Someone that everybody thinks of when artist comes to mind and not be able to pay people on a timely basis really churns my stomach.

So now I've decided to finding out things for myself and maybe even by myself could be the most effective approach possible.I've already developed schemes on how to get where I want to be.One of my mentors asked me where do you want to be.I told him I want an island all my own and a mountain I could live in and/or work.I want to travel the world with ease and little concern on money.I want to revolutionize how we all animate not through technology but through careful observation and experimentation.I saw my self in the future but I wasn't animating as much.No I was managing guiding and pushing the goals of a company that would end the page of great influential movements.A company as a movement?Yes.I believe that any time you get a group of people together to have an impact wether it be through comercial,small business,corporate chains etc.You're pretty much saying that there is something either not right or could be improved upon and you're just the person to do it.

Now I must admit I don't know how I'm going to do it.But you ask all of the people who have made huge contributions to the world wether it be George Washington Carver,Albert Einstein or Pablo Picasso.Create a time machine that connects and pinches everyone of your blood vessels. Travel through time,but while your traveling set the option to "if unknown or not sure SELF DESTRUCT"because if you're traveling through time its always DO or Die!Once you've reached Picasso,Carver, or Einstein look at the settings look back at them and ask them how are they going to make a change or how are they going to revolutionize modern thought or practice?Than look back at your settings "if unknown or not sure SELF DESTRUCT".Will you survive?

Here are some sketches I did.Some are actually interesting.Others are okay.For a week now I've been frustrated because I'm trying to change my approach.I made some sketches that I'll probably won't post.They were more vertical than usual.Right now I'm trying to eliminate as many lines as I can so that it doesn't take away from the picture.Oh and I've Finally got back to animating after a 4 week Hiatus.I did more observing and hopefully you'll see the new Direction.I want it to be so New and convincing.I want to draw the viewer in even more toward the end.I should have the rest of it shot within 2 months But I do Have my Fingers crossed.It'll be done Before the Entries for International erotic Film festival shows up thats a Definate.Oh and I'm working on 5 illustrations 5 ways to Destroy a Black man is the theme.Let's see if I can portray this in an unmistakable yet unique fashion.

Here are some of my old storyboards senior year from the 780 panel story that has yet to be animated.The Name of the Film was going to be race.It took place in the very distant future and it delt with black minstrely and stereotypes.If you ask I can give you an overall summary of the story but right now at this time I gots to move fast.

It's crazy the amount of detail I got with some of them.The squares were about the size of a quarter.It's amaziong what a 6-9b pencil can do.

Well,the unthinkable has happened.I made it to New York.On top of that I got Lost 8 times.I one day.I'll probably won't take a train again.BUt of course back to the the juicy details.I did in fact get a Internship at plymptoons which was exactly part of the original plan.It changed later on during the summer but some how it re-manifested itself.He didn't talk much to me he was in the middle of animating.He's very tall.At least 6'4.I know I'm a short guy but damn it seemed like everybody was taller than me.But still I will proceed into stage two.Already in Here I was given 2 possibilities of animating or possible work with animation related work.One possibly a full length feature animation.The other being more of a Television related possibility.Right now I'm digitally painting for Bill Plympton's latest Feature I believe.Look on his website for more Details.I'm starting to get the hang of somewhat speed painting and cleanup.But I was told that it was a light load and would likely progress in intensity.It such a good experience to live and Breath this City.I think I fell in love with at least 20 women up here.I haven't even talked to them yet.Well I guess that's all I really have to say about whats up.As far as the Film I have to make a set up.I brought my peg bar now all I need is some tape and something hard to draw on.

OH! Thank You Jeremy and Patrick For commenting on my animation.It means A lot!Especially when it's coming from emmensly talented guys like you.You guys would kill it over here in New York.I'm not Just saying that.It's competitive but you guys got it.

Well here it is as predicted In betweeening and some parts need to be held on a little longer.But its straight for the most part.I'll be animating in New york so I'll come that much closer in getting it done.And the up comming scene should deal with character and abstraction but more character driven.

Above are frames of the Film that is indeed coming to a finish.I'm beating myself up to get ready for the climax.I want it to be just right.It has to be, because my supply level of paper and pencils is dangerouslly low.But any way I'm guessing the animation should be done sometime in November.I'm strongly considering to color it.

Internships.We'll, it turns out that just because someone means that they like your work and they schedule an interview and cancel it only to tell you a week later on E-mail that the guy you wanted to intern with decided to go with the students.She did mention that she left me hangin.And I'm sure it was for good reason.But Damn I was a Month at least ahead of time.And to get something at the last minute is nothing short of insulting.But Maybe it was just the type of animation I presented.I'll probably never know.Besides,there were other studios that could't accept me or either just haven't responded to my e-mails.So at this point I was so frustrated.There were a good deal of people who believed that if I didn't get a job at least I would get an internship.I sometimes can get over letting myself down but not others when someone believes in you it something completely.

So yeah I was a Fuckin mess for about a day.I e-mailed John-D—you all should have seen the e-mail It really lifted the little spirits I had clinging despately and starvingly to my character.But yeah I'm headed in a new direction.I'm going to do it I'm going to work on developing this studio.I've Already recieved business advice an direction(THank you Candi) I'm so glad I took that class.So now All I have to do now is finish up this Film,work out the concepts,story for the next Film.This film will establish me is a capable,and innvetive artist as well as socialy conscience.Soon after the concept and storyboarding is done I'll work on test footage—hopefully I'll have a camera by then—oh yeah for the most part I don't even know what the ending is going to look lik for mmae?—but not to side track once the test footage is done I'll present it to the arts council.

Other than the above I'm just staying afloat.It so easy to sink when you graduate.And all ready I'm seeing it with cats I went to school with.So I'll keep drawing at the Nelson and I'll have to look for a part time job.It's so funny the minute I actually want to start speaking to people something comes up.Did you all get that?If you didn't just ask DeAndre he knows exactly what I mean. Oh I saw the most beautiful...
